Chanco staff, Council meet Friday
A meeting has been called for this Friday, 16 June bringing together the University of Malawi Council, Chancellor College Academic Staff Union and officials to the table to resolve the six month impasse which has resulted in the closure of the Chancellor College.
Minister of Education, Science and Technology Emmanuel Fabiano disclosed this in Parliament this morning when taken to task that his office has paid a blind eye to the matter which has left students out in the cold for over a semester.
The Chanco staff are demanding an increment in their perks through harmonisation of salaries between Chancellor College and University of Malawi constituency colleges such as College of Medicine and The Polytechnic.
Fabiano was responding to heavy criticism and calls for resignations from Members of Parliament who accused him of incompetence.
